Fresh evidence from MessageLabs suggests that taking Atrivo offline had more of an impact than some thought it would. Overall spam for September was down 8 percent, and while the reprieve won't last, taking major ISPs down can clearly have an impact.

Out of options, DISH finally pays TiVo $104 million judgment
DISH Network and EchoStar will finally pay TiVo $104 million over a patent infringement case that was decided in 2006. DISH says that the decision won't affect the company's current DVRs, though, and customers can continue using their devices as usual.
